'Deng son' appears in court

A man who allegedly claimed to be a son of the late leader Deng Xiaoping and who then allegedly cheated two people appeared in Fengtai district court on Monday.

The 46-year-old, surnamed Tian, allegedly cheated a victim in Fengtai district out of a Nokia phone worth 5,300 yuan, a Rado watch, two bottles of Hennessy XO worth 7,600 yuan, two cartons of Chunghua cigarettes worth 1,100 yuan, tea and tea pots between May and July 2008.
