Two 'VIPs' delay flight

Some 140 passengers on a flight from Guangzhou to Sanya, Hainan province, endured a 70-minute delay as two women stopped the crew from closing the cabin door saying their friends were yet to come, information portal sina.com.cn reported yesterday.

A worker at the airport said that passengers were supposed to check in 45 minutes before the departure of the plane. Nine people missed the check-in time for that flight. Two women were allowed to board the plane as they were VIPs, and the remaining seven had to reschedule their tickets. However, the two women blocked the door to the cabin and insisted that the plane should wait for their friends.
