Jailed for embezzlement
The former executive vice president of Beijing Star Daily was sentenced to 12 years in prison for embezzling over 1.43 million yuan ($209,495), the Beijing Times reported yesterday.
Zhao Wenyan, 47, was charged with embezzling the money when working at the Beijing Star Daily and then the Beijing All Media and Culture Group from 2002 to 2006.
