Twice fired official back

One of the country's high-level officials known for being fired twice within six years, Meng Xuenong, has recently taken up the post of the deputy secretary of the Work Committee of the Central Government Departments of CPC, Xinhua news agency reported on Sunday.

Born in 1949, Meng was appointed the governor of Shanxi province in January 2008. He was discharged from his post only eight months later after a local coalmine collapsed, killing 270 people.
