Honda expands in Wuhan
Sino-Japanese auto joint venture Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co Ltd plans to build a second plant in Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei province. With an first-phase investment of 1.15 billion yuan, the new plant will have an initial production capacity of 60,000 vehicles and be operational in the second half of 2012. Dongfeng Honda's existing plant has a production capacity of 240,000 vehicles that include the Spirior mid-sized sedan, compact Civic and CR-V SUV. The joint venture's sales grew last year by 28.2 percent to 210,600 vehicles.
