Earthquake rocks region

An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck northern China's Shanxi province at 10:36 am yesterday, according to China's national seismological network.

The epicenter, located at the border area between Hejin and Wanrong county, was at 35.5 degrees north latitude and 110.7 degrees east longitude with a depth of 12 kilometers, the network said.
