By Chen Weihua and Huo Yongzhe | China Daily | Updated: 2010-01-23 07:46

PORT-AU-PRINCE: Seeing is believing is no longer true these days in the quake devastated Haitian capital as noxious fumes emanate from the dead bodies buried under tons of rubble.

The stench gets worse day by day, said Bien-Alme Jamie, a college student whose school collapsed in the earthquake.

No one knows exactly how many people are still buried under the ruins in the city center. More than 75,000 people are believed to have lost their lives in the quake, while many are already buried in mass graves.
