Official suspended

Xu Zhidian, an official of Jinhua, Zhejiang province has been suspended for involvement in an extra-marital affair, the local disciplinary watchdog said on Tuesday. It did not specify the exact number of Xu's mistresses.

Xu was allegedly blackmailed over the sex scandal in 2009, when he was deputy district mayor of Wucheng district. Xu paid the money, but the blackmailer subsequently raised the amount of money, threatening to publish photos if he refused to pay.
