Former official charged
Cai Zhiqiang, former Putuo district head, was prosecuted on bribery charges by Shanghai Municipal People's Prosecution Service on Monday, Xinmin Evening News reported yesterday.
The initial investigation revealed that Cai, taking advantage of his position as district head, took bribes amounting to a total value of of more than 2.8 million yuan ($410,118), the local authority said.
