Rapist to appeal severity of sentence

A Miyun chicken farmer who trapped a woman in his home and raped her 10 times will appeal next week at the city's No 2 Intermediate Court to reduce his 11-year-sentence.

Jia Zhencai, 47, claims his victim consented to having sexual intercourse on all occasions, and disputes the degree of the punishment. Jia is currently residing at a detention center in the city.

Last December, he was convicted of rape and sentenced into 11 years behind bars by Miyun county court.
