Doctor under police probe

Police in Neijiang, Sichuan province, are investigating the case of an accident victim who was declared dead on the spot and sent to a crematorium while his heart was still beating, a local public publicity official said yesterday.

Zhang Houming, a construction worker, eventually died an hour after his relatives rushed him to a hospital, where all efforts to save him proved futile "due to the delay in treatment".
