Opposition may boycott

Japan's main opposition party threatened to boycott a parliamentary debate on an extra budget today, demanding the ruling Democrats first answer questions about a deepening funding scandal involving their No 2 executive.

The ruling coalition wants to pass the extra budget for this fiscal year as soon as possible to prop up the weak economy.
