By Tang Yue | China Daily | Updated: 2010-01-16 07:55

Chinese track cyclists will be keen to get off to a flying start to the year at next weekend's Track Cycling UCI World Cup in Beijing, the first world-class competition since the sport's events were amended for the 2012 London Games.

"We had a sound winter training and are fully prepared for this meet," said Guo Shuang, bronze medalist in the women's individual sprint at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

"It is the first meet since the change to the events was announced. All the teams will take it very seriously as we all want to get off to a good start," the three-time keirin World Cup champion told China Daily.
