The Reds swoop for Rodriguez

LIVERPOOL, England: Argentina international winger Maxi Rodriguez left Atletico Madrid for Liverpool on Wednesday as the English Premier League giants attempted to rescue their faltering season.
The 29-year-old Rodriguez, who has moved on a free transfer, signed a 3 1/2 year deal with Rafael Benitez's side after spending four years in the Spanish capital.
"We were looking for players with character and a good mentality," said Benitez. "He has played for Argentina and Atletico Madrid and is a player with personality.
