Ode to joy

Sun Xiuwei has learnt singing for years, from Gao Zhilan in Shanghai to Rita Orlandi Malaspin in Italy. In 1994, the singer debuted at the G. Verdi Theatre in Italy and played the role of Norman, acclaimed by the public and critics alike. In 2000, as a rising opera star, she was invited to sing at the Paul VI Hall in the Vatican in front of Pope John Paul II.
