Villagers attack police
Villagers in Lipu county of South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Tuesday attacked and injured 11 police officers by hoes and knives, and set a police car on fire in a confrontation triggered by land disputes, China News Service reported yesterday.
Five villagers were injured when police opened fire in self-defense, the report said, quoting local government sources.
