Networks to merge

A top leader in the country pledged to accelerate the merging process of telecommunication, broadcasting and the Internet yesterday.

A resolution was made on the latest executive meeting of the State Council, presided by Premier Wen Jiabao, who said the consolidation of the three networks would help develop the economy and satisfy people's diversified demands.
