History repeated
After its debut at the Great Hall of the People last year, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of New China, the music and dance epic Road to Revive will be restaged at the National Center for the Performing Arts. The show traces the history of the nation over the past 170 years, since the Opium War of 1840. Zhang Jigang, who acted as the deputy director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics, serves as chief director of the show. The strong cast includes such influential singers and performers as Peng Liyuan, Song Zuying, Yan Weiwen and Ding Jianhua.
