Two top Tibet leaders to resign

Two top officials in Tibet autonomous region will ask to resign from their current posts, and the vacancies are expected to be filled by Friday.

Qiangba Puncog, chairman of the government of Tibet, will tender his resignation at the ongoing session of the People's Congress of the Tibet autonomous region, according to the confirmed agenda of the annual meeting.

A new chairman will be elected before the session concludes on Friday, Xinhua News Agency reported.
