A group of 16 gangsters who used violence to monopolize the day-trip tourism market in Qianmen were sentenced individually to between two and 13 years in jail by Xicheng court.
The group forcedly controlled the travel business in Dashilan in Qianmen, and also forged two company seals - the Beijing North Taxi Company and the China CYTS Tours Holding Corporation - for business purposes.
The court said they broke the laws of provocation, blackmail and forging company seals.
