New charge for attacker
Danish prosecutors have added a terrorism charge to two charges of attempted murder against a Somali man who broke into the home of a cartoonist whose 2005 drawing of the Prophet Mohammad sparked global Muslim outrage. The 28-year-old man, who police have said has links to Al-Qaida, was charged with attempting to kill cartoonist Kurt Westergaard and a police officer on Jan 1 in the town of Aarhus. Prosecutor Marian Thomsen said the charges were expanded "because trying to kill Kurt Westergaard had a bigger purpose than just killing him."
