A recovery in the prices of metals, including iron ore, platinum, silver and palladium has bolstered the industry.
China emerged as a major buyer in the 12 months to June 2009, accounting for 26 percent of the total value of Asia Pacific's acquisitions, according to KPMG, a financial advisory company.
