CPPCC regional meeting

More than 500 representatives attended the annual meeting of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held in Urumqi, capital of the region.

As the region's top political advisory body, the regional committee of CPPCC has submitted 1,132 proposals and suggestions to the government on key issues, ranging from economic development, environmental protection and maintaining ethnic unity.
