Premium carmaker Volvo, which is expected to be acquired from Ford by China's Geely, sold 22,405 vehicles in China last year, surging 80 percent from 2008. Its sales in December more than doubled to 3,290 units year-on-year. Without revealing the specific sales figure, company said sales of the S80 model rocketed by 240 percent year-on-year in 2009. Volvo is making the S80 and S60 at Ford's joint venture with Chang'an Motor Corp.
