Egg prices rise after snow

The wholesale price of eggs climbed 2 percent on Monday after expressways to Beijing from Liaoning province were blocked with heavy snow, the Beijing Times reported.

More than 80 percent of eggs in Beijing markets are laid in Jinzhou, Liaoning province. The rise came after only 3,000 boxes of eggs arrived on Monday, a third of the daily average, according to Dayanglu wholesale market, the largest egg market in Beijing.
