Arcade games: Guangdong tips hat to ancient Greece

GUANGZHOU: Guangdong will create a "green life" themed pavilion to showcase its modern development and rich history.

The structure, designed to resemble a qilou, pays tribute to the province's long-serving role as a gateway to the West. Qilou is a style of architecture inspired by 2,000-year-old Greek arcade buildings and has been popular in southern China for over a century.

"It combines both Western and Chinese culture," said Vice-Governor Wan Qingliang.
