Caf O2 at InterContinental Beijing Beichen prepares Alaskan seafood, said to be high on mineral and protein nutrition, low on calories and fat, from Jan 11-24. Lunch buffet costs 208 yuan per person, and dinner buffet 228 yuan per person, plus 15-percent surcharge.

Chef Matthew Van Der Zwan has recently been appointed executive chef at Park Plaza Beijing West. Having worked for such high profile events as the World Economic Forum in Davos and the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, his goal is to create a modern, stylish and enjoyable dining experience at the hotel.

Bloo Dining Restaurant at Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing offers a special lunch at 108 yuan for two, featuring a variety of items from healthy coarse grains, to traditional Chinese noodles, vegetable and desserts, inclusive of two complimentary healthy drinks. 11:30 am-2 pm, Monday-Friday.

Seafood buffet
Elements Buffet Restaurant at Hilton Beijing prepares fresh seafood, including crabs, freshly shucked oysters, lobster, caviar, prawns and salmon, on every Friday from 6-10 pm. Fresh seafoods are steamed, fried, or roasted at live cooking stations. Price is 228 yuan per person, including coffee and tea, or 288 yuan per person, plus free flow of local draft beer. For an additional 120 yuan one gets a free flow of wine. Price is subject to 15 percent surcharge.

SHANGHAI
Get buff, Equatorial-style
Steak, seafood and fresh salad are the highlights of the buffet being offered by the Hotel Equatorial Shanghai's Caf 65 from Dec 1 through next year. The 24-hour caf, located in the hotel lobby, is offering lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm for 138 yuan per person, and dinner from 5:30 pm until 9:30 pm for 198 yuan. Both exclude a 15-percent surcharge.

Wagyu very much
Wagyu beef dishes are featuring daily at Epicure on 45 atop the Radisson Hotel Shanghai from Jan 1-31. Top menu picks include Pan-fried Tenderloin and Goose Liver with Black Truffle Sauce (480 yuan), Grilled Sirloin Caf de Paris (380 yuan) and Grilled Rib Eye with Barnaise Sauce (380 yuan). An 18-course menu featuring Shark's Fin With Fish Maw & Sea Cucumber Soup, Sauted Scallops With Broccoli and Special Fried Crab starts at 3,888 yuan per table, excluding a 15-percent surcharge.
