African fashion released
Nigerien fashion designer Seidnaly Sidhamed, also known as Alphadi, released his 2010 collection in Beijing last week, marking the 51st anniversary of the Republic of Niger. The 52-year-old's latest creations are in line with his tradition of presenting vibrant African fabrics in gold, red, purple, blue, white and black. Alphadi views himself as an ambassador of African style and says he draws all inspiration from his homeland.
He gained international acclaim after the 1985 founding of Alphadi, which means "Child of the Desert".
