Hmong returned to Laos

BANGKOK: Thailand's repatriation of Hmong from a refugee camp in a northern province of Phetchabun to Laos was going on smoothly, Thailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said yesterday.

There was no resistance from the Hmong refugees against the repatriation, which has been managed by the Thai government, the Thai News Agency quoted Abhisit as saying.

Laos has guaranteed that the living standard of the Hmong people in Laos will be improved after the repatriation from Phetchabun, Abhisit said.
