Officials hurt in demolition

Several city administrators in Jiujiang, the second largest city in Jiangxi province, were injured in attempting to demolish an illegal building, information portal jxnews.com.cn reported yesterday. The property owner, surnamed Zhou, and his fellow villagers assaulted some of the officers from the Jiujiang municipal bureau of city administration and law enforcement who were trying to tear down his house after negotiations failed.
