Auditors across the country have found 234.7 billion yuan ($34.4 billion) worth of funds misused from January to November this year, according to figures released by the National Audit Office yesterday.
A total of 67 government officials and 164 other related people have been handed over to disciplinary or judicial authorities, the office said.
The audit covered 99,000 companies, government bodies, public institutions, and retrieved funds worth 16.3 billion yuan, said Liu Jiayi, China's top auditor at the national auditing conference.
