Crane collapse kills 5

Five people were killed and another was seriously injured after a crane collapsed at a construction site in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen yesterday, the local government said.

The accident took place at about 3:40 pm in Shenzhen's Bao'an District, the city government said in a statement, without giving the identities of the victims. Police have detained five people in charge of the construction project, the statement said.
