Assembly base rolls out
The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, in charge of the country's first proprietary jumbo jet C919, laid the foundation for its assembly base in Pudong district yesterday.
The assembly base is designed to manufacture 20 C919 jets and 50 ARJ21 regional jets a year by 2016, China News Service reported. The first phase of the assembly base is expected to be built and put into use by 2012.
