ACL gets ministry nod

ACL Bank Pcl has received approval from Thailand's commerce ministry to continue its banking and insurance businesses after Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd (ICBC) acquires a majority stake in the Thai lender, Krungthep Thurakit reported.

ACL Bank got the exemption since the ICBC investment would create more jobs, the report said, citing Banyong Limprayoonwong, director general of the Business Development Department.
