Festive season set for Changchun

The 2010 China Changchun Ice and Snow Festival, also known as the Jingyuetan Vasaloppet International Ski Festival, is underway in the capital of Jilin province after its opening on December 1. It will continue until February 28 next year.
The three-month-long jamboree will cover several traditional festivals, including the Christmas, the New Year's Day, Spring Festival and the Lantern Festival. A total of 53 activities will be held ranging from sports competitions to trade and commercial fairs.
The Changchun Ice and Snow Festival is sponsored by the city government, the Chinese Skiing Association, Jilin Provincial Tourism Bureau and Nordic Ways, a sports promotion company from Sweden.
