When the woman surnamed Gao landed at Shenyang Women's Prison to serve her 10-year sentence for selling drugs, her only consolation was that her 1-year-old was in good hands.
"I believe my daughter will grow up well under the care of kindhearted people," says Gao of Hai Mei (Sea Beauty), who is being looked after at the OSJ (Order of St. John) Dalian Children's Village, a charity NGO that takes care of orphans, abandoned babies, and children whose parents are in prison.
