Ex-PM charged with bribery
Prosecutors here yesterday filed an indictment against the former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook for alleged bribery. Han Myeong-sook, 65, the country's first and only female prime minister, was accused of accepting $50,000 from Kwak Young-wook, who is now detained on embezzlement charges, to help him get the top post of state-run company, Korea Coal Corporation, officials of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office said.
Although Kwak didn't get the position, he was later named CEO of another state-run company, Korea South East Power Co, prosecutors added.
