Lawyer wants fair trial

Beijing-based lawyer Li Zhuang, who was arrested over suspicion of disrupting one of a series of trials on organized crime activity in Chongqing municipality by fabricating evidence, demanded his trial be held outside of the city to ensure justice. Alleged local gang boss Gong Gangmo, 48, reported on Dec 12 that Li, his defense attorney, told him to lie in court that he had been tortured by police for eight days to get a confession.
