Asian Games land grab
The land designated for the Asian Games Town in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province which will serve the Asian Games to be hosted by the city next year, was auctioned off for development at a record price of 25.5 billion yuan ($3.6 billion) yesterday.
A consortium consisting of three major developers grabbed the land, which covers an area of 2.6 million sq m and has a floor area of 4.3 million sq m.
