Two cited for stampede

A school principal and employee will be prosecuted for a stampede in their school that killed eight students and injured 26 others, local authorities said yesterday.

Ye Jizhi, headmaster of Yucai Middle School in Xiangxiang city in Hunan province, and Peng Heliang, a school employee in charge of discipline, were cited as being directly responsible for the tragedy on Dec 7.
