China Daily | Updated: 2009-12-18 07:56

Three criminals, who cheated more than 11 million yuan from 41 high school graduates by claiming they could get them into military colleges, were given jail sentences, the Beijing No 1 Intermediate People's Court ruled yesterday.

Zhang Kewen and Hu Guoling both received life sentences, while Zhou Tao was sent down for only 15 years after helping police capture her partners, the court said in a press release yesterday.

The trio was convicted of running the scam from March 2007 to February 2008.
