Taiwan pop singer Chang Hui-mei, more widely known as A-Mei, will return to the Chinese mainland stage after an absence of five years. Her world concert tour is titled Amit, after her aboriginal name. A member of the Puyuma minority group in Taiwan, the singer achieved instant commercial success because of her unique voice and singing style after her debut in 1996. She has won numerous music awards and is extremely popular within the Mandarin-speaking world.
