Dark pools are coming to the market and they change the way you trade. The global financial crisis has underlined the importance of market transparency. Dark pools are the exact opposite of market transparency.
A dark pool is the name given to the pool of money created by independent alternative trading markets. These operators offer a trading platform where large institutions, banks and funds can trade anonymously with each other.
The providers of dark pools include Chi-X and LiquiNet, sometimes working in partnership with established stock exchanges.
