Corruption alleged

A former district head in Shanghai is being investigated over alleged corruption charges, the local discipline watchdog of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said Sunday.

Cai Zhiqiang is being investigated by judicial authorities on suspicion of taking a"huge amount" of bribes when he served as the chief of the Putuo District and director of the human resources department under the Personnel Bureau of Shanghai, said the CPC Shanghai Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection.
