Scientists back climate data

China Daily | Updated: 2009-12-12 07:30

COPENHAGEN: Some 1,700 British scientists signed a statement on Dec 10 to dispel doubts surrounding climate data that arose after emails from some scientists involved in climate change studies were leaked.

In the statement, the scientists firmly gave their support to the findings released by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) over the years.

"(We) have the utmost confidence in the observational evidence for global warming and the scientific basis for concluding that it is due primarily to human activities," the statement reads.
