Campus icon to debut new songs

For many years, the local pop music scene was rather lackluster. But then came singers who made a dramatic difference - such as Xu Wei and Pu Shu, and in the past decade, Lao Lang.

His collaborations with mainland musician Gao Xiaosong, a rebellious Tsinghua drop-out of the early 1990s, led to an era of Chinese campus ballads. The singer's soft, sentimental voice and easy-to-follow lyrics have earned him a large fan base in China.

But he has not been very productive since his marriage five years ago. This Saturday, he will debut his new songs besides presenting old favorites such as From the Bottom of My Heart, Sunny, Beijing's Winter, and Adventure.
