Modern ballet

The National Ballet of China will present Peony Pavilion, a classic love story and part of the repertoire of traditional Chinese operas, including Kunqu and Peking Opera. The ballet version has been adapted by Li Liuyi, drama director of the Beijing People's Art Theater, and this explains the experimental flavor of the play. The dance employs body language to interpret the emotions and inner struggles of the characters.
