Raikkonen switches from F1 to rally

LONDON: Ferrari's 2007 Formula One world champion Kimi Raikkonen announced his switch to rallying on Friday after agreeing a one-year deal with Citroen.

The French manufacturer said the 30-year-old Finn would take part in 12 of the 13 championship events in 2010 for its Red Bull-backed junior team.

"I always wanted to compete in rally, especially in the world rally championship at some point in my career," said Raikkonen. "This is a new but very exciting challenge.
