A far too generous gesture
When I heard that China had pledged to cut its carbon intensity by between 40 and 45 percent below the 2005 level by 2020, my colleagues in Norway and I were shocked.
The ambitious and hefty emission-cut plan was completely beyond my expectations. How could China be so "generous" as to harm its own national interests?
