Mei the man unveiled

The play Mei Lanfang on the Peking Opera master's life and loves will have local actors Bai Yongcheng, Liu Ying and Chen Liangping playing the lead roles.

To play Mei accurately, the leading actor Bai learned to sing Peking Opera pieces from the master's son Mei Baojiu, who is also the production's art director.

The play will reveal more details about Mei's life such as his conflict with his brother. Another highlight is the witty exchanges between Fu Zhifang and Meng Xiaodong, two of Mei's beloved women.
